Move over Ron Howard, looks like there is a new Howard director in town, and its none other than our very own Bryce Dallas Howard who played Victoria in the Twilight Saga : Eclipse.
According to Slash film :
Howard’s first feature as a director will be The Originals, a New York City-based drama about 20somethings. The original (heh) script was written by Howard herself and her writing partner/brother-in-law Dane Charbonneau. Read more about the project and watch Howard’s very first directorial effort, the short film Orchids, after the jump.Howard and Charbonneau wrote the screenplay for The Originals in 2009, at which point it was rumored that her father was interested in directing. Recently, however, Howard told ShowBiz411 that she would be taking control of the project herself. The film centers around a group of childhood friends who reunite in young adulthood when their former teacher falls into a coma, and has been described by Howard as “a Breakfast Club for my generation.” No actors have been announced, although Howard mentioned that she’d written a part forAvatar actress Zoe Saldana. The Originals has already been picked up by Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment, but there’s no word yet on when we can expect to see the finished product.
