This is JUST the beginning! Going to be an amazing opening weekend!!
Summit Entertainment’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn–Part 1 grossed at least $8.9 million from a handful of foreign markets on Wednesday and Thursday, including scoring the third best opening of the year in France with $3.8 million. The only movies to post bigger first-day bows in France were Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn and Harry Potter and the Dealthy Hallows: Part 2.The first screenings at the Le Grand Rex theater in Paris were sold out, with screaming fans drowning out the dialogue throughout the movie.Across the board, however, Breaking Dawn did less business than The Twilight Saga: Eclipse did in its first day in the same territories, although that film opened in summer, when kids were out of school.
